Find your rashi
Your Moon sign is what daily Vedic readings use. Here is how to find it and why it is not the sign you read in the newspaper.
Why the Moon sign
The Moon moves through all twelve signs in about twenty-eight days, so its position changes the daily tone far more than the sun does. That is why Vedic daily timing works from rashi.
What you need
- Date of birth.
- Time of birth, to the nearest ten minutes.
- Place of birth, at least the city.
If you do not know the time
The Moon changes sign roughly every two and a half days, so an uncertain time is usually fine for finding the rashi — unlike the ascendant, which changes every two hours.
Questions people ask
Is rashi the same as sun sign?
No. The sun sign changes monthly; the Moon sign changes every two and a half days. They are often different signs.
Can my rashi be wrong on a website?
Yes, if the site uses the Western tropical zodiac instead of the sidereal Vedic one. Expect a difference of roughly one sign.
